The Pacific GIS & Remote Sensing Council (PGRSC) is pleased to share a valuable learning opportunity for our French-speaking members.
The French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) offers a free online course (MOOC) introducing the fascinating world of space and its many applications.
Designed for a broad audience, this four-hour course explores:
- The new era of the space sector and its emerging challenges;
- Space environment and sustainability;
- Scientific research conducted in space;
- Orbital mechanics and how spacecraft travel.
Whether you are a student, GIS professional, remote sensing specialist, educator, or simply curious about space technologies, this MOOC provides an excellent introduction delivered by CNES experts. The course includes videos, additional learning resources, quizzes, and an Open Badge awarded upon successful completion (70% score or higher).
Although many training opportunities are available in English, high-quality educational resources in French remain relatively rare. We therefore encourage our French-speaking community across the Pacific to take advantage of this opportunity.
