Founded in New Caledonia in 2025, Tauhã is a climate-tech start-up dedicated to building a network of virtual environmental monitoring stations powered by satellite Earth observation and artificial intelligence.

Tauhã develops non-intrusive monitoring solutions that continuously analyse environmental change and transform complex satellite data into timely, actionable intelligence. Its mission is to help governments, industries and communities better understand environmental dynamics and respond more effectively to climate-related challenges.

The company’s monitoring services address a wide range of environmental and human-related risks, including:
- Coastal erosion and shoreline change
- Sea-level rise and coastal hazards
- Water quality monitoring
- Human activities and land-use change
- Environmental compliance and ecosystem monitoring
By combining high-frequency satellite observations, AI-driven change detection and targeted alerting, Tauhã enables users to move from reactive monitoring to proactive decision-making.
Through its membership, Tauhã looks forward to collaborating with the PGRSC community, contributing to the advancement of Earth Observation and geospatial technologies across the Pacific, and supporting innovative approaches to environmental monitoring and climate resilience.
