10 GHz for Radar Earth Observation Satellites
Every four years the World Radio Conference (WRC) takes place to review and, if necessary, revise the radio regulations that define, who can use which frequency for which purpose. Also satellites use different frequencies to receive commands, take an image from space with radar, and to download the images. This year the WRC-23 will be held in 20 November to 15 December in Dubai.
On this radio conference, with voting right for every country, important decisions will be taken for the next four years that could affect the access to SAR imageries for the Pacific. Pacific leaders should be informed about the issue.
If you need further information, please contact your country focal point. Please discuss the issue in your GIS&RS user groups. Additional information can be delivered.
