Free GIS and Remote Sensing Resources Series – Week 4: Advanced Use of Copernicus Browser

On behalf of the Pacific GIS and Remote Sensing Council (PGRSC), we welcome you to Week 4 of our series to promote free GIS and remote sensing resources (webinars, instructional videos, technical manuals, e-books, etc.) to increase capacity, awareness, and skill development for the Pacific Islands geospatial community. Last week, we introduced you to European Space Agency’s (ESA) Copernicus Programme’s Copernicus Browser. This week we will expand on the powerful tools and features that are available in the platform to compare and analyse earth observation data and imagery from the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Copernicus Programme.

Week 4: Are you interested in learning about the web tools and features available for analysing Sentinel satellite imagery and data? The Copernicus Browser has advanced features that let you create areas of interest (AOI), compare images, create timelapses and 3D visualisations, manipulate bands to create customised composites and indices (such as NDVI or EVI), and use scripts to build machine learning classification models and automate workflows and processes.

We hope that these materials are beneficial to you. Please let us know if you have a free GIS or remote sensing resource that you would like to promote as well so others can learn from them.
