Annual Pacific GIS & Remote Sensing Conference Conduct

The PGRSC Annual Conference is a key forum for knowledge exchange, networking, and innovation in the Pacific geospatial community. All participants, whether attending in person or virtually, are expected to:

  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Respect speakers, presenters, exhibitors, and fellow attendees during sessions, workshops, and social events.
  • Ask questions and participate constructively, promoting a positive exchange of ideas.
  • Refrain from disruptive behavior, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
  • Recognize the contribution of varied viewpoints, including Pacific traditions and community knowledge, in complementing scientific and technical expertise.
  • Obtain consent before recording, photographing, or sharing others’ work or personal images.
  • Support low-impact event practices.

Unacceptable Conduct

  • Harassment, discrimination, or any form of abusive behavior.
  • Plagiarism, data falsification, or other breaches of professional integrity.
  • Retaliation against individuals who report misconduct.
  • Actions that undermine the safety, engagement, or sustainability of the community.

Reporting and Accountability

Concerns regarding misconduct — at the conference or otherwise — can be reported confidentially to designated PGRSC representatives. All reports will be addressed promptly, fairly, and with respect for all parties involved.

Continuous Improvement

PGRSC is dedicated to ongoing reflection and enhancement of its practices. Members are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions to ensure the Code of Conduct remains relevant, effective, and aligned with community values.
