The 5th Annual Geo Connect Asia Conference was held on the 9 & 10 of April2025
, marking the largest gathering to date for professionals in geospatial, remote sensing, and spatial digital solutions in Asia. This year’s event featuredfour overlapping exhibitions, seven interchangeable conferences, and morethan 100 speakers, making it a comprehensive and dynamic platform forindustry experts and enthusiasts.
Salote Viti and Lanieta Rokotuiwakaya represented the Pacific GIS & Remote Sensing Council (PGRSC), invited by Rupert Owen, Co-Founder of the Geo Connect Asia. The opening ceremony was led by Yeoh Oon Jin, Chairman of the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) and encouragingly, Mr. Owen acknowledged the Pacific region being part of the 2025 Geo Connect Asia Conference amongst the 20+ countries represented by speakers in the 2 days.

The 5th annual Geo Connect Asia conference was a resounding success, offering a rich blend of exhibitions, conferences, and expert presentations. It served as an essential platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration among professionals in the geospatial and remote sensing community. The insights gained and connections made during the event will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of the field.
At the 2025 Geo Connect Asia Conference, the Pacific GIS & Remote Sensing Council (PGRSC) gleaned several key insights to enhance geospatial initiatives in the Pacific region and the PGRSC:
1.Enhancing Regional Collaboration: Geo Connect Asia emphasized the importance of cross-border partnerships, not only through national governments, but through the empowering regional organizations that are making a difference.
2.Strengthening Public-Private Partnerships: As the PGRSC believes partnerships as to be instrumental, the GCA conference showcased successful collaborations between governments and private entities in advancing geospatial technologies. Such partnerships could be instrumental for the Pacific.
3.Embracing new technologies and AI. he integration of artificial intelligence and robotics in Earth Observation is revolutionizing data analysis and decision-making processes. The PGRSC promotes these advancements to the Pacific region as opportunities to enhance environmental monitoring and disaster response.
