DESCRIPTION:The ISPRS Student Consortium (SC) Summer School 2026 will be held at York University\, Toronto\, as a pre-congress event to the ISPRS Congress 2026. This year’s theme\, Geospatial Innovations for Climate Action\, will focus on equipping participants with cutting-edge knowledge and skills to leverage geospatial technologies for addressing climate change challenges. \n​This five-day program will combine theoretical learning\, hands-on training\, and collaborative problem-solving. The highlight will be a group innovation challenge on developing geospatial solutions for climate/environmental-related issues. The winning team will be invited to present their solution during the plenary session of the ISPRS Congress 2026. \nObjectives\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuild capacity among young researchers and professionals in applying geospatial technologies for climate action. \n\n\nFoster collaboration and networking among an international cohort of students and early-career scientists. \n\n\nProvide a platform for creative and solution-oriented thinking towards climate-related issues. \n\n\nExpected Outcomes\n\n\n\nTrained participants capable of applying geospatial innovations for climate action. \n\n\nStrengthened global network of young geospatial professionals. \n\n\nProof-of-Concept solutions addressing climate/environmental issues. \n\n\nIncreased visibility of student and early-career contributions within the ISPRS Congress.

DESCRIPTION:Full Conference Information (Registration\, Abstract Submission\, Programme\, Venue\, etc.) can be found HERE! \nInitiated in 1998 by the University of the South Pacific and the Fiji Lands Department\, the Pacific GIS & Remote Sensing Conference has grown into the largest geospatial event in the Pacific region. Today\, the conference brings together more than 300 participants from around the world\, including government agencies\, utilities\, private companies\, universities\, research institutes\, regional organizations\, space agencies\, and industry providers of geospatial technologies and data. Over four days\, the event features more than 60 presentations\, discussions\, and expert-led workshops. It offers a unique platform for networking\, knowledge exchange\, and collaboration across the Pacific geospatial community. \nThe Pacific Island GIS and Remote Sensing Conference warmly invites you to share this opportunity and hear from Pacific Island users present highlights of their work aligned to governmental targets\, and meet with our network of regional and global experts\, sharing best practices and knowledge in applications relevant for the Pacific. Save the date and register to join our series of presentations\, workshops\, and networking events. \nWhy attend?\nThe Pacific GIS & RS Conference is the largest gathering of Pacific Island Users and our network of regional and international stakeholders to share experiences and knowledge in developing and using GIS and Remote Sensing tools and products. Over 300 participants register each year and look forward to the range of presentations\, workshops\, and social events such as the APSEA awards accorded at the conference closing cocktail. \nWorkshops\nWorkshops are held at the end of the conference week\, by spatial industry regional and global experts. These workshops always prove to be a popular and important activity during the conference. Workshops are held concurrently and usually at the SPC\, Geoscience Division Campus in Nabua and at the University of the South Pacific\, Laucala Campus. \nSocial Activities\nA range of social activities are offered throughout the conference week\, from the opening cocktail to the pub crawl\, concluding with the infamous Sandbank Picnic on Saturday.
