SUMMARY:6th International Electronic Conference on Remote Sensing (ECRS 2026)
DESCRIPTION:Welcome from the Chair\n\n\nDear Colleagues\, \n\n\nIt is with great pleasure that we announce the 6th International Electronic Conference on Remote Sensing (ECRS 2026). The conference is organized by the MDPI open access journal Remote Sensing (ISSN: 2072-4292; Impact Factor: 4.1) and will be held online from 19 to 21 October 2026. \n\n\nOn behalf of the Conference Chair of ECRS 2026\, we invite you to participate in ECRS 2026. We aim to bring together researchers\, professionals\, and students from around the globe to share and discuss new developments in remote sensing and its broad range of applications. The conference will feature sessions and presentations on the following key topics: \n\n– AI in Remote Sensing;\n– SAR Remote Sensing;\n– Remote Sensing in Semi-Arid and Arid Areas;\n– Remote Sensing in Tropical Areas;\n– Remote Sensing in Urban Areas;\n– Remote Sensing of the Environment;\n– Remote Sensing for Cultural Heritage Protection;\n– RSVQA—Remote Sensing Visual Question Answering.\n\nECRS 2026 will place a special emphasis on fostering participation from young scholars\, supporting disadvantaged communities\, and engaging researchers from developing countries. We are committed to fostering inclusive participation and ensuring that cutting-edge remote sensing knowledge and technologies are accessible to researchers worldwide\, regardless of their geographic or economic circumstances. \n\n\nAs a fully online event\, ECRS 2026 will present a unique opportunity for remote sensing scientists and practitioners worldwide to connect\, exchange knowledge\, and engage in lively discussions without the constraints of travel or geographic boundaries. All accepted abstracts will be available online on Sciforum.net during and after the conference. \n\n\nWe are pleased to announce that outstanding contributions will be recognized with awards for the best oral and poster presentations. We encourage all participants\, especially early career researchers and those from underrepresented backgrounds\, to actively engage and present their work. \n\n\nYour participation is essential to the success of ECRS 2026\, and we warmly invite you to join this vibrant scientific forum. We look forward to your contributions and to a dynamic and fruitful conference! \n\nKind regards\,\nConference Chair\nProf. Dr. Timo Balz\nThe State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying\, Mapping and Remote Sensing (LIESMARS)\, Wuhan University\, Wuhan 430079\, China

SUMMARY:2026 Pacific Islands GIS & Remote Sensing User Conference
DESCRIPTION:Full Conference Information (Registration\, Abstract Submission\, Programme\, Venue\, etc.) can be found HERE! \nInitiated in 1998 by the University of the South Pacific and the Fiji Lands Department\, the Pacific GIS & Remote Sensing Conference has grown into the largest geospatial event in the Pacific region. Today\, the conference brings together more than 300 participants from around the world\, including government agencies\, utilities\, private companies\, universities\, research institutes\, regional organizations\, space agencies\, and industry providers of geospatial technologies and data. Over four days\, the event features more than 60 presentations\, discussions\, and expert-led workshops. It offers a unique platform for networking\, knowledge exchange\, and collaboration across the Pacific geospatial community. \nThe Pacific Island GIS and Remote Sensing Conference warmly invites you to share this opportunity and hear from Pacific Island users present highlights of their work aligned to governmental targets\, and meet with our network of regional and global experts\, sharing best practices and knowledge in applications relevant for the Pacific. Save the date and register to join our series of presentations\, workshops\, and networking events. \nWhy attend?\nThe Pacific GIS & RS Conference is the largest gathering of Pacific Island Users and our network of regional and international stakeholders to share experiences and knowledge in developing and using GIS and Remote Sensing tools and products. Over 300 participants register each year and look forward to the range of presentations\, workshops\, and social events such as the APSEA awards accorded at the conference closing cocktail. \nWorkshops\nWorkshops are held at the end of the conference week\, by spatial industry regional and global experts. These workshops always prove to be a popular and important activity during the conference. Workshops are held concurrently and usually at the SPC\, Geoscience Division Campus in Nabua and at the University of the South Pacific\, Laucala Campus. \nSocial Activities\nA range of social activities are offered throughout the conference week\, from the opening cocktail to the pub crawl\, concluding with the infamous Sandbank Picnic on Saturday. These opportunities allow participants to enjoy downtime through informal networking events.
